FIELD TRIP:
This week we will be going on one of our first field trips this year. Fifth through Eighth grades will be going to the Fernbank Center of Natural History and Imax theater on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. The cost is $26 and the permission slips have gone home today. If your student does not have his or her permission slip, then please be sure to have written permission with contact information and the specific trip that you are giving permission for, which in this case would be Fernbank Center of Natural History. This is a day trip. Students may bring a sack lunch or money to order food. We will leave at 9 a.m. and return by 1 p.m. Please make sure all permission slips are returned by Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Thank you for your continued support.
HOMEWORK:
Students are currently presenting on projects from Friday (Forces of Nature or Prehistoric peoples) . So far the projects have been very impressive and well constructed.
Monday: Study Vocabulary Words for the Week: (5-6) sculpted, cascade, spacious, cringe, solemnly, miserable, bestow, anticipate, debris, recall, accost, transfer, unrelenting, humiliation, ridicule.
(7-8) collateral, compensate, congregation, co-author, collide, commencement, coordination, confrontation, commodity, coherent, comment, collaborate, complicate, colloquial, coincide, collapsible, concert, consonant, commiserate.
Students must complete three of the six activities from the Super Speller Packet and turn in at the end of the week for Word Work Credit (due Friday and graded). Please Study words and meanings everyday for success on the Vocabulary Test.
Study for Social Studies tests (5th though 8th Grade)--Earth's Physical Geography for 5-6th Grade and The Beginnings of Human Society for 7-8th Grade.
Tuesday: Students will take a Socrative test on the Language Arts theme book current chapters (Chapters 7 and 8 of Esperanza Rising for 5th and 6th Grade and Chapters 8 and 9 of Eric Liddell: Greater than Gold for 7th and 8th Grade) --Look for the link and student's access code on the Blog tomorrow.
Wednesday: Field Trip-- No Homework Scheduled
Thursday: Study for Friday's Vocabulary Test
Friday: Vocabulary and Bible Memory Verse Tests. All Homework due.
