Students in grades 5th and 6th have projects to work on in both Science and Social Studies. In Social Studies, Students will create a 3D diagram of any of the forces that act on the earth: earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunami, sinkholes, weathering, erosion, etc. The project will be due on the Friday after next, November 6, 2015.  The diagram must describe the force that is being displayed and show the following information: A label with the name of the force, How the force affects the earth and changes it, how people interact  with (eg. live with, survive in) the force of nature, and where/how often the force of nature occurs. The diagram can also be done in minecraft, however, please be sure to either create a display with pictures or create a video of the space so that it can be viewed. Please no PowerPoint or posters.

Students in grades 7th and 8th have a project to work on in Social Studies. They will create a 3D display of a group of ancient peoples before the Bronze Age. They must show how these early people interacted with the environment: tools, housing, foods/agriculture, location and social. The display can be a diorama, on Minecraft, built from art materials (clay, salt dough, wood, paper, etc) or any other materials a student deems necessary. The display should clearly demonstrate the previously mentioned aspects of prehistoric life/hunter and gatherer life. Note Cards or a short write up of the group and its interaction with the environment is required as well as a Title Card Sharing the name of the group and location in world.
