Happy New Week!

Good Afternoon Parents and Students!

This week we are completing assessments in Language Arts.We have also begun Spanish instruction. Students will be having Spanish twice a week with 5/6 Grades on Mondays and Tuesdays and 7/8 Grades on Wednesdays and Thursdays. NOTE: There will always be a quiz following a lesson and Lesson 1 began today for 5/6 Grade. Please have your students review nightly and weekly in order to stay current with what they are learning. 

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Parent/Curriculum Night will be this Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

P.E. Schedule-- Students have P.E. on Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly and Calisthenics/Aerobics on Wednesdays. Young ladies must wear shorts under the school uniform for Wednesday's exercises.

Please remember to check in the student organizational binder for notes from home and for any information that may have been sent.

Students may bring devices from home for Core school subjects (Math, Language, Science and Social Studies) and relevant subjects (Technology). Devices are used with teacher permission and not outside of classroom settings. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

HOMEWORK:

Study for Spanish Lesson 1 Quiz on Tuesday, August 25, 2015.

Bible Activity: Find an object that represents worship of God to you and bring it in to share on Friday.

Study for Memory Verse Quiz on Friday--You may use a creative way to present the Bible Verse: song, rap, recite the verse with hand signs representing the words or a drawing, but in all cases students must know the verse by heart.

Our First Week of School

Success! Welcome to all new and returning students to DAJA!

 My name is Chanisha Wilson and I am so happy to be here as your teacher for Language Arts and Social Studies.

I look forward to this school year and the fun and learning that will take place. Our first week went well and I know I have an intelligent and eager to learn class. There are three major features that you will find on the blog: homework and upcoming assignments, videos/pictures, and reminders/news.
